LOVE LETTERS TO THE SATURDAY EVENING POST

Barbara first learned about the Saturday Evening Post during her 4 year stint as an Illustration student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. During its heyday, the Post became the most widely circulated magazine in America, with content provided by the leading illustrators and writers of the time. This series is an homage to the iconic publication. She has carefully selected original images and text passages to integrate, allowing the content to dictate the overall feeling of each piece. The lavish colour palettes are all inspired by the magazine itself. Each piece contains the date of publication and the header from an individual page that can be discovered upon closer examination, much like a treasure hunt.
